Sustainability

Premiere’s responsibility to its social and environmental surroundings is central to the company’s objectives. In order to achieve this, Premiere has broken down the key areas of the business and analysed them on a cradle to grave sustainable basis.

The Challenge, The Solution, The Goal; three steps that allow Premiere to continually move forward improving and contributing to the world around it.

The Manufacturing Site

The Challenge

Premiere as a manufacturer of both chemicals and cleaning machinery at the Oakley Gardens site is aware that all products must be manufactured in compliance with legislation and using the most efficient methods possible.

The Solution

sutainability

Premiere is proud to say that it adheres to all current legislation for both UK and export markets. With an IPPC (Integrated Pollution Prevention & Control Directive) licence being granted in 2007 now called an Environmental Permit, Premiere can purchase & store bulk raw materials, minimising wastage, packaging & transport. The main chemical plant has no open drains, recycling all rinse down from the cleaning of vessels after batch manufacture into the product with no loss of quality and no external pollution. Waste to landfill is minimised by recycling cardboard, plastics & metal packaging, while ensuring that all cardboard packaging purchased contains a minimum of 30% recycled material.

The Goal

Premiere is both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified and therefore is continually looking at ways to improve the systems it operates by and its environmental impact. This is particularly true in its manufacturing, where energy & water usage is constantly audited to maximise efficiency.

Chemical products

The Challenge

To eradicate the traditional view that chemicals are in conflict with the environment.

The Solution

sutainability

Premiere is aware that it is not only the ingredients in the chemicals that have an impact but also how much is used. Premiere has looked to control the quantities by making its chemical range highly effective so it secures a first time clean, reducing the amount required for the cleaning task. The Easy C, highly concentrated dilution system takes this one step further by minimising packaging and maximising the chemical to cleaning task ratio. It has also formulated an environmentally friendly range called Natura.

The Goal

Premiere is committed to researching the raw materials in chemicals, making sure they are as environmentally friendly as possible. As well as developing new ranges that use innovation to improve cleaning and reduce environmental impact.
